sorry for only updating today, I had to take a bunch of driving classes yesterday.

btw, I’ll be trying to update once or twice a day this week to catch up on my chapter debt.

I’ll be posting a link soon for the discord chat if anyone wants to join, so you can see all of us procrastinate(lol)

Chapter 15: I’m so glad I wasn’t reincarnated into a goblin.

I currently have zero cash.

Drowning in pleasure resulted in this.

I have decide to never go to those kinds of places again.

Even though that’s fine and all, the fact that I have no more money is bad.

Should I go borrow money from Chloe again?

No, that would be too lame.

In the first place, if she asks me the reason why I lost all the money, it would be problematic for me.

Too embarrassing.

I should do something about it myself.

“I’m sorry about this, but no breakfast today.”
“It’s fine, I don’t really eat breakfast in the morning.”

*stomach growling*

After saying so, sound came from Irene’s stomach.

Irene became flustered and waved her hands around.

“T,that just now was wrong! It’s just my stomach is feeling weird today.”

“Sorry…. Sorry….”

“It’s fine, it really is fine!”
“…I was thinking about defeating some magic beasts and selling their material, do you any place where I can sell them?”

“The government office and the adventurer’s guild buy them.”

“I see, than let’s go.”

I changed clothes and left the inn with Irene.

Since I didn’t have money we went without breakfast.

To be honest, I’m feel so sorry towards Irene that I can’t face her.

While we walked out of the inn, I heard a small mutter from behind me.

“Master, where did you go last night?”

Uu, so it really came.

I wonder how I should explain this.

Obviously, telling her the truth, would make her disgusted.

If this was a visual novel, it would be at the level where her affection meter would immediately become zero.

….wait.

Even if Irene’s affection lowers, why would it matter to me?

Rather, wouldn’t that be more to my advantage.

Okay.

“Something like a night patrol? I was wondering about the city’s public safety so I went around town.”

“So it was like that. Because you suddenly disappeared in the middle of the night, I was surprised.”

“My bad….”

Why did I say a lie?

Was it because I was scared of being scorned?

Is it because I want to be liked by Irene?

Wrong, It’s because I don’t want to speak about my mistake.

While holding unto my feelings of worry we went outside of the city.

We carried our feet until, the field where the goblins we’re living in.

The goblins are famous for having powerful reproductive abilities, and they are quite popular magic beasts around here.

It seems their nails are used in the production of stomach medicine, so demand for them is quite high.

I took a view from here, and I confirmed a green lump far away.

“Oh, is it that?”

“There’s four of them.”

Goblins fundamentally move in groups.

Their heights are around a meter.

Their skin color is a chemical sludge like dark green, and they have ugly looking sharp ears and nose.

The four of them were equipped with a club like weapon.

They seem to have noticed us here too, and they don’t look like they’re gonna run away.

If I was to translate the look on their faces it would be (you wanna fight!? We gonna beat you good.)

“Is it fine if I shoot them?”
“Do it.”

I also took out my sword and prepared myself.

The strongly pulled bow took the first attack.

Like their wasn’t any distance between us, the arrow deeply penetrated the forehead of the goblin.

Our opponents couldn’t even lift one finger against us.

I’ve thought of this since the first time I’ve seen it, but the arrow is extraordinarily fast.

And the aiming, is precise, fast, and there was almost no gap between the movements until the arrow is shot out.

Although the skill is quite amazing, what really amazed me is the fact that her breathing has never once become disordered.

This is probably what’s is commonly called mental durability.

In the end, the goblins, without even getting close, all became corpses.

When I praised her with a clap, Irene held both her cheeks and started twisting and winding her body.

It looked like a mollusk and calmed me. [TLnote: I have no idea how that could calm someone, eww.]

And then, my job was simple.

All I had to do was to take the dead goblin’s fingers.

I just casually cut them off.

As long as I take care of not damaging the nails, it’s fine.

I placed all the materials into the black bad, and looked for the next prey.

There were 8 goblins gathered around a tree.

It seems they were trying to catch a squirrel on one of the branches, and they haven’t noticed us yet.

Irene took them out one by one in a surprise attack.

I watched that from the side.

What’s with this air of tension?

This scene makes me feel more of a sense of urgency compared to scenes of war in dramas and manga.

Will you live or will you die! OAAAAAAAAAAA!! Or something like that.

But in reality, I was only amazed, and the amount of enemies slowly grew smaller.

Goblins aren’t really that weak of a small fry.

It’s probably cause Irene is too strong.

Saying that, I kinda feel like doing something.

I picked up a fist-sized stone near me.

“Ah, stop stop. I’ll take care of the rest, so back off.”

“Ah, yes.”

Or rather isn’t their only 3 of them left.

Well, whatever.

The storm of arrows ended, I faced the goblins making angry expressions, aimed, and… threw the rock.

On the goblin’s forehead a hole opened up.

The running goblin without knowing anything, fell in a flashy way and died.

The second goblin was quite perceptive, and crossed his arms to protect himself from the rocks I was throwing.

Although the stone still pierced his arms with room to spare and directly destroyed his brain.

The last one noticed that all his other comrades got done in, attempted to escape.

Of course, I wouldn’t let him escape.

I twisted my upper body to the point that my back could be seen, and threw the rock with a tornado pitch. [TLnote: I have no idea about baseball pitches, but that was how it translated to.]

The rock entered the back of the escaping goblin’s head and came out of the front.

Oo~, Throwing rocks was more effective than I thought it would be.

Since I can just pick up a stone from anywhere it won’t cost me money too.

Isn’t this the most ideal fighting style for me, who’s broke.

Irene excitedly approached me.

“You were cool!”

“Is that so?”

“Especially the unusual throwing method at the end.”

“It’s called the tornado pitch.”

“Although showing your back would slow down the attack speed, it would make the release point of the rock hard to predict. From the enemy’s perspective it would be hard to predict the timing of the attack, and would make their response slower. With master’s throwing speed, a second of hesitation will cost your life. It is a perfectly calculated pitching method, wonderful.”

“? O,Oo, yeah it’s that, it was like that.”

It’s not an atmosphere where I can just tell her I was just trying to look cool….

Or rather, the goblin was running away, so it wasn’t looking over here.

And I think this baseball like commentary is something that just came out naturally.

We quietly retrieved the goblin’s nails.

After that we hunted another close to ten goblins.

Since we’ve gathered quite the amount of materials already, but Irene stopped her legs and started looking towards the sky.

There was a bird flying around us in the sky, like it was marking us.

“That bird has been flying for a while.”
“It’s called a Kururu Bird and It’s a very nimble and sly bird.”

“In order to search dead bodies, it senses battles and starts flying around like that.”
“So It’s kinda like a better version of a crow? Can it be sold for a lot?”

“Yes, it’s famous for having delicious meat.”

He~, I want to try eating it.

I tried throwing rocks at it, but it normally missed.

It’s altitude was high, and it’s flying speed was fast as well, so it would take considerable skill to hit it.

Even it would be quite difficult for Irene.

“That would probably be impossible, we’ve already worked enough today.”

“That is right.”

Being able to quit at the right time is an essential skill as well.

When we returned to the town, we asked someone on the road where the guild Warriors of true light is.

We went to meet Chloe to convert our spoils into money, but it seems she went out to subjugate the demon lord and won’t be back for the next two weeks.

I felt a strong sense of guilt….

Since she’ll probably come back depressed, let’s think of words to comfort her before she comes back.

A single Goblin nail was 150rize.

One body’s worth of nails was around 1500rize.

For monster’s which newbie adventurer’s would die too, that’s cheap.

Is it cause there are a lot of people, so they look down on the value of lives?

But, I got 33000rize, so all my complaint’s went away.

It’s still too early to go back to the inn.

We’ll just casually go around the city then.

When we were about to do so, we were stopped by a young painter-ish man.

“Wait, wait, if it’s okay would you please be the model for my painting!?”

It seems this guy became fascinated with Irene.

He was wearing a beret slantingly, somehow he’s suspicious.

When I was about to refuse— Irene was looking towards here excitedly.

“Could it be you want to be a model? …how long would it take for the picture to be finished?”

“It won’t take much time at all! 30 minutes, no, I’ll finish it in 20 minutes.”

It’s a barely tolerable waiting time.

“Understood, than try being a model.”

“No, master should also do it together.”

“That’s right, since you’re both handsome and beautiful, ti would be a waste not to have you in the same picture.”

It seems I was also counted as a model.

To be blunt, it seems like a pain, well, it can’t be helped.

Everything is an experience after all.

Me and Irene sat besides each other on the prepared chairs.

It was really tiring to sit in the same pose for 20 minutes.

Also there were some people who sometimes came to watch and it was really embarrassing.

“It’s done! Please take a look!”

If it sucks I will lay upon you the tickling punishment— it’s normally good huh.

Although it was only drawn using a pencil, it really showed me and Irene’s features.

An impudent looking bastard and a charming girl. It looks like art.

“Look at this, you’re pretty good. How much is it?”

“It’s fine, I don’t need money! This is a rare chance for me so please take it.”

“M,m,master, is it fine if I take it?”

“Go ahead go ahead.”

Irene properly rolled the paper, and like it was her own child, embraced it lovingly to her chest.

Is it something to be that happy about?

Although if it was a bag of money I would do the same.
