Jaryuu Tensei Chapter 8

sorry for the late post, I was experiencing some very bad headaches yesterday and the translation wasn’t progressing really well, even now I haven’t recovered yet, but I was able to pump one chapter out for you guys.

sadly I won’t be able to post anymore later as I have to help my mom with some stuff, and tomorrow I might be or not be able to post another chapter because I have driving school.

I will still continue the one chapter a day posts on the weekdays though.

oh right, if there’s a series that you want me to translate comment the title down below. I’ll only be doing one chapter a week depending on the length. also it has to be something that hasn’t been translated in three months.

Chapter 8: Slave Village

Slave.

One who has lost all human rights, whose freedom is not recognized and is treated as another’s property.

They’re forced to do labor, and are traded around like objects.

Although the 21st century earth has already abandoned that kind of thinking.

Human rights has made it so people are thought of as equal after all.

At the very least on the surface.

And, if you’re wondering why the conversation suddenly went to talking about slaves, it’s cause…

“In this village they do slave auctions.”

Is what Chloe-sensei explained.

Slave auction is as the name suggests.

Why is it that they bother to do it in this kind of village?

that’s because, it’s illegal in the city near here.

The normal selling of them is allowed though.

Then, why is selling ok, but auctions are no good?

It’s cause the guys who lose, hold a grudge and attack the winners, and this repeated multiple times.

It’s a story that couldn’t be helped.

And then, the feudal lord got angry and made the auctions prohibited in the city.

But the sellers and the buyers wouldn’t give up with just that.

And then, their gazes turned towards this village.

They set this village as the auction site, and money went into this village.

That’s why the village chief and the villagers aren’t dissatisfied with this situation.

Since they’re making money just by lending the place, after all.

And also the inns are prospering as well, even I want to live here.

“The slave traders bringing out the especially excellent products and bringing it to the auction are quite a lot. Since a lot of them sell for higher after all.”

I see, the me, who once got into yafuOku, nodded honestly. [TLNOTE: it seems the YafuOku is a TV brand that was popular in the past, I couldn’t research more about it though.]

There was a game which could be bought for 3000 that was sold for 5000 second hand after all.

When I won the auction, I was so happy I jumped from the third floor of my apartment, that was a good memory.

Nah, it wasn’t good at all.

But as a too cool business man(lol), even auctions have enough charm to fire me up.

“On the other hand, there are a lot of cases where the ones who don’t sell well are sold with low starting prices.”

I can understand that too.

If they show it to masses, there will surely be those willing to buy.

If they actually auctioned out a yafuOku at a starting price of one yen, there would also be someone willing to bid.

“Hyohyohyo, auctions are this village’s specialty. The participation fee will more or less cost you so how about trying it out.”

Old man, no matter how much you pocket the participation fee, you’re smirking to yourself too much.

“Well, life experience is important too after all. Even I feel like participating. hyohyohyo.”

Lend me money.

When I sent a gaze that said that to Chloe, she made an amazed face from the bottom of her heart.

“I, no matter how much time passes,  will never like the selling of little girls.”

So if it’s little boys it’s fine? The shotacons will flip you know?

“That’s why, I’m sorry to say this to you but I won’t pay for your participation fee.”

“I understand, then, we will separate here, thanks for everything until now.”

When I lightly said words of parting and started walking away, with amazing vigor Chloe rushed in front of me.

Isn’t this a first class basketball player’s defense?

“W,wait why did this turn into talks about parting?”

“Talks about parting… since you won’t participate, it couldn’t be helped right? Since I want to join, I’ll be staying here for a bit to earn some money. Don’t you hate this village? That’s why you’re going back to the city, is what I thought.

“No, well, that is, about that, but, the city is still a fair bit away… and if ja is alone wouldn’t he be pitiful, is what I was thinking… that’s why wouldn’t it be fine to go together…”

“I’m not really bothered by it…”

“I understand! If you say that much, it can’t be helped! I’ll move around together with you!”

What’s with that forceful answer?

How scared are you of being alone?

Since you’ve been fawned over by other people since a long time ago you’re scared of being isolated, is what I thought.

Well, I have a lot of things I don’t know, so if you want to go together I won’t refuse.

Suddenly from the entrance a person who looked like a villager ran with all his might.

He went to the village chief and strongly shook him, and while out of breath said.

“This is bad village chief! Magic beasts have appeared and they seem to be heading towards the village! It’s a six bear.”

“First off, calm down. Even if you panic, the situation won’t become better.”

Ohh, the wrinkles that had piled up over the years aren’t just for show, it seems.

Oh six bear(english) should mean that there are six of them.

But bears aren’t magic beasts, right?

The village chief gathered the people in the plaza and explained the situation, and after that he lowered his head and asked for help from the customers.

That’s cause this village has a large gathering of nobles and rich people.

Those guys shouldn’t have come to this village without any guards.

In reality, there are actually a bunch of big guys with bodies full of muscles and carrying expensive looking weapons in this village right now.

The village chief is counting on those guys to lend their power.

On the contrary.

The rich people looked like they bit on a sour persimmon.

For some reason I felt like I’ve felt this kind of atmosphere before.

Aa, is it that?

Is it the atmosphere when the teacher suddenly says “okay~ I think we should decide on the person to be the class representative. Is there anyone who wants to do it?”

Is there actually anyone who wants to do it, read the atmosphere! Kinda thing.

“The six bear is a strong magic beast from this area. Your slaves and underlings might be wounded by it, this wouldn’t really be asking much, right?”

“I see, but at this rate wouldn’t this village be in a pretty bad situation?”

Chloe stopped my words, there was a small child looking this way.

“… even in this kind of town, the children are not the ones in the wrong. That’s what I think.”

In a cool way Chloe proclaimed and pulled out her sword and raised it up.

“I shall fight! Show me the way!”

At the still young woman, Chloe, declaring that, a thunderous applause rose from the surroundings.

Although to be honest, something like defeating magic beasts is troublesome, but since Chloe is going ,I’ll go as well.

And then, some of the rich people who don’t even have any kind of interest in joining the battle and just want to watch, followed along as well.

100 meters from the village was where the magic beasts(target) were.

Why was it called six bear, I immediately understood.

Three on each side, were arms.

It’s to the point that you’s ask, is this some homage to the thousand armed kannon?

There’s a limit to bad taste, you know?

“This match will be decided in an instant.”

To the Chloe who declared that like an aunty that was about to go into a bargain sale, I put my hand on her shoulder.

“Hey, is it fine even if I do it?”

“You…? Sure, I don’t mind, but is your body fine?”

“That’s why, it’s to confirm the sensations of my body, so that’s why I want to do it.”

“If it turns dangerous, I’ll back you up.”

“Thanks hero-san.”

The moment I said those words as a compliment, I heard a feminine voice rejecting that behind me.

I heard her mumble ‘I am just a coward’, but now is not the time for that.

I grasped the sacred sword, and tried swinging it once or twice.

The sword’s length is quite normal, and the weight is easy to handle.

Or rather, this might just be because my strength is above average.

“Gururuuuuu”

well then, during the time I was a dragon this kind of opponent would be an instant kill for me, but since I became a human, I wonder how It would feel… let’s start the experiment.
